** Yarnbomb at Parkrun **
Hello there - Yesterday we had our Christmas special Medina IOW parkrun and the knit n natter ladies "yarnbombed" the cycle track that we run along (we didn't tell too many people) that we were doing it, so it ended up a complete surprise to many of the 241 runners that turned out to run. Our run starts at 9 am every Saturday morning, but this week four of us knit n natter ladies and three of the regular set up men were there at 7.30 am and it was still dark!!!
Dave sorting out the finish
Here is Peter our regular photographer
The runners started to arrive, Santa's, elves, reindeers
Here is Doris - it was her 75th birthday and she comes along
to run every week and yesterday it was her 85th parkrun
Happy birthday Doris
Club buddies meeting up at the weekend waiting for the start

A few more arrive
Here is Simon starting the warm up
Simon did the actions and had the runners doing the actions
to the 12 days of Christmas for their warm up
It was brilliant and got everyone in the Christmas spirit
Partridges in pear trees - I believe!!!
And we're off - arrows pointing the way
What a lovely sight at 9 am on a Saturday morning
heading towards to the start of the cycle path
what a surprise the runners will get this week!!
Here we go
What a glorious morning for a run

A festive marshal sitting on the bridge pointing and encouraging
the runners on their way
I hope you enjoyed our festive parkrun as much as we enjoyed
doing it and running it
As well as doing the Christmas crochet for our run, the ladies also crocheted 290 hearts of which we handed out 241 to the runners yesterday and 37 to the marshals - take a peek here
Thanks for popping by
Merry Christmas and a healthy Happy New Year
Take care and stay safe

** Christmas Tree festival **
Hello there - Last weekend was the Christmas Tree festival at Brighstone on the Isle of Wight, so some of our knit n natter ladies set off with their crochet baubles, stars and snowflakes to decorate our tree as part of the festival. Our tree was to be in Mottistone church - the next village on to Brighstone.
Ta-dah - here is our lovely crocheted covered tree with
65 baubles, stars and snowflakes
12 year old Holly who came along to one of our sessions made these
3 beauties - they are fabulous and she even added a bow to one of them!!
We wandered around the church looking at the other trees
this one is decorated with cup cake cases
decorated with lego
Stanley family tree
The Nativity
I love church windows
A plaque on the wall for David Peter Seely
Lord Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight 1986-1995
Lovely carvings
this little fella was just by the door
Off we went down the road to Brighstone for Coral to do her tree for
St George's Special School
There was a lace tree and these three exquisite ornaments were on there
We spotted this lovely handmade tapestry on the wall which particularly caught our eye
Because Barbara is the wife of our resident photographer at our Medina parkrun
each week and it was lovely to see that Barbara was involved with this lovely tapestry
One last look back as we leave
Thanks for popping by

OOOOOOoooohhhh look what my son made me - I love my reindeer
We have collected our tree, baubles, stars and snowflakes and we have
a plan to do something with them this weekend!!
