Day trip to London

Hello there - we were away for the weekend a couple of weeks ago and spent our third and last day on a day trip to London - I love going to London

On walking down Regent Street I spotted these flags flying in a side street

Statue of Eros in Piccadilly Circus

Buses flying around everywhere

Beautiful architecture

More flags flying

Admiralty Arch

Statue of Admiral Nelson perched on his column
Working at Horse Guards Parade
Cyclists coming up Whitehall taking part in Ride London 2016

Downing Street very protected
The Cenotaph

Big Ben

Westminster Abbey
St Margaret's Church is situated in the grounds of Westminster Abbey

I heard a plane overhead and turned the camera skywards
No didn't manage to get that then.

Glancing back again to Big Ben - I love it

Lovely statues at Parliament Square

Remembering Jo Cox
Another glance back at Big Ben
I heard another plane - nope missed it again!!
London Eye in the background

I love these dotted all around the streets as you walk around
Chris Frome and his team being interviewed just before their start of
Ride London 2016
The finish for the race was down The Mall

Beautiful gardens outside Buckingham Palace
Statue of Queen Victoria
Cyclist being ushered out of the finish

Buckingham Palace

Standing to attention

We went on around Buckingham Palace to walk up the side road and I spotted this
on the wall - you wouldn't ever get over those walls!

We stopped and chatted to a lady who had ridden Ride London and this is the medal
she won for doing the 100 mile ride.  The front side said the date and distance and
the reverse side showed a map of the course.
What a fantastic medal to have won and you would treasure it forever more.

We were walking to Wellington Arch just beyond Buckingham Palace to
go in and up onto the outside balcony to look out over London as this is an
English Heritage property and we are members so we get to go in.
Looking back over the cyclists clearing area where they are then sent on their way home.

Yay - got one this time!!

Thanks for popping by and I hope you enjoyed my walk
around London - I will return as I love it so much

Xx Joy xX

I joined these once I got home, though the border still isn't done

I must get on and finish that!!
