A trip to the mainland

Hello there - we recently took a trip to the mainland for a couple of days - as we got off the catamaran and were waiting for our coach I snapped the Spinnaker Tower as it had had a facelift with a coat of paint since last we were on the mainland.

On we went to Epsom where we had a wander around the park and town

Stunning colours

Epsom clock tower

These phone boxes are a permanent feature at the top end of the
town at Kingston where we went the next day

We took a walk along the river and I snapped some things
that caught my eye

A swan having a clean

Some houseboat fun

We are in Kingston and cross the bridge

There is a cycle path across the bridge

Once across - you are in Richmond

Walking the path and heading towards
Hampton Court Palace

Silver birch saplings

A tent pitched and all set for fishing
(You can camp for two nights to fish with a permit)

What lovely properties!!

A lovely setting

The outskirts of Hampton Court Palace

Very regal toppings on the fence

Even more regal

Double fences surround Hampton Court Palace

Double walls

A wall you wouldn't climb over

L O V E this snap - ooooohhh the neatness

a deck chair to sit and rest your weary feet

The flower bed as you enter or leave

Through these beautiful gates!!

Our walk from Richmond around the park took hubby and I two hours - it was a long time since we last did that walk when our son was at Uni in Kingston.  It didn't seem so far or take as long but perhaps that was because we haven't walked it for 18 years!!  We had a lovely day though.

And of course I took some crochet with me

Thanks for popping by

PS

The next day was a trip to London - Why not come back another day for that tour
