Day two - Central Park, New York

Hi there - Up we got and off we went on day two of our adventure in New York - we headed down through Times Square and on to Central Park

Spotted these two in Times Square

Loved this random tree

John Lennon and Yoko Ono lived in the Dakota Apartments adjacently located to the area of the park.  It was here, walking into his home on December 1980 that John was shot dead.  The lamps either side of the entrance continually burn in Johns memory.

Strawberry Fields is a 2.5 acre landscaped section in Central Park that is dedicated to the memory of former Beatle, John Lennon, named after the Beatles' song 'Strawberry Fields Forever' which was written by Lennon.  The teardrop shaped region was landscaped by the Central Park Conservancy and a generous $1 million donation from Yoko Ono.

The iconic black and white Imagine mosaic lies in the centre of Strawberry Fields, named after another famous song by John - 'Imagine' evokes a vision of hope for a world without strife, war and conflict.  Strawberry Fields has been endorsed as a Garden of Peace.

Walk through this.

On down under the tunnel
