Happy 2017

Hi there - wishing you all a very Happy Healthy New Year - a couple of thoughts in my head are that I will finish any unfinished projects in my crafting basket and not to start any more, so that there are not a dozen or so on the go at once.  I wonder if that will happen.

Hubby had his birthday at the end of November and off we went to New York, oh my goodness what an awesome time we had there.  So much to do and so much to see and we had the best time ever. 

 

Off we set on a very frosty cold morning from Ryde Pier head

 

Plane arriving back at Heathrow Airport

 

 

Off to Terminal 3 for check in and to get on our way

 

 

Our hotel on 39th Street which was a two minute walk from Broadway

 

 

 

We had tickets to watch Aladdin at the Amsterdam Theatre

just off Time Square, so off we went to find out where it was. 

Wow - what a fabulous show that was.

 

 

The theatre was next door to McDonald's - American style!

 

 

 

Walking on up 42nd St there is this lovely marble statue that was donated

by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to note the

Year of Italian Culture in the U.S in 2013

 

 

Then you come to Central Station

 

 

So of course, in you go

 

 

Into the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Foyer

 

 

On through these doors

 

 

Wow look inside and you have this

It's a Railway Station

 

 

 

Up the escalators to the East Balcony and

New York's - Apple Store

Open air ice rink set up in Bryant Park, 42nd St / Fifth Ave

 

 

 

The Chrysler Building skyscraper slotted in on the

East side of Midtown Manhattan of the Art Deco era

 

That is day one and needless to say there was no knitting or crocheting going on
