Harmony Blanket

Hello there - It's been a while since I have been around so here are some catch ups.  Some time ago I started to crochet the beautiful harmony blanket designed by Lucy from Attic24.  The colours she chose were beautiful and I wanted very much to make one of these harmony blankets

cloud, lime, clematis, rose, bluebell, raspberry,
parma violet (for joining)
petrol, lavender, storm blue, aster, violet, meadow, petrol, plum

all joined together with parma violet
Lucy made a single bed blanket for which you needed to make 9 strips
across the bed with 14 strips down = 126 squares
I decided that I wanted to make a double bed blanket so that I could look at it
every day on my bed, so another five rows to make
so that meant I needed another 70 squares = a total of 196 squares

and so my squares began - little piles of them

and then there were more - I needed 14 different colour combinations

Lucy had designed a new granny square and it was lovely to make them as
they were quite different from the classic granny squares

piles and piles of them all with letters on trying to keep track
of the rows I needed and whether I had enough of the
right colours for the 14 piles of 14 squares

Eventually I could start the joining to make the rows

Starting at the top of the row and adding down
until there were 14 squares in a row

Then to start joining on the next row

Then more

And more

Yet again more

Oooohhhh the blanket was coming together and I was lovviingggg it

Then of course there is a border of 8 rows to put around it
the first row was to be cloud then
lavender, violet, plum, raspberry, meadow, sage, storm

and finally 6 months later it is finished and on the bed!!
Isn't it gorgeous?

A few weeks ago this beautiful blossom was on the cherry tree

and then it blew off and looked like pink snow

leaving the tree looking rather bare

so I crocheted some covers over some plastic balls
and hung them in the tree to give it back some colour

Yay I love it and there is more to come!!

Another of Lucy's patterns that I couldn't wait to do,
so once the harmony blanket was finished I starting
making some bits and pieces

Starting with covering a polystyrene ring

then a few of these

then some more

some of these

 a few of these

one of these

then some more

some of these

 one of these

and a bit more crochet in a different colour and you get
this little lady

Assemble everything you have made and you have
a lovely Autumnal wreath

a few squares joined together and there is a
cushion cover

some of the blue strips on the left

become these scanner pockets for parkruns

and the greens

become these little worms

I started to make a few hearts

After seven rounds and changing colours this heart is finished

and some more are finished

All done

some baby knitting

some bunting!

these few bits

become Peter the parrot - ready for a pirate parkrun

some shorty trainer socks

The knit n natter ladies have started some squares
for our next project

A few of these

OOOOOOooooo and what are these for??!!!

and finally this little chap

Thanks for popping by and hope to see you again soon
